“Waiting On” Wednesday – The Chaos of Stars

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

Okay, first off, I’ve got to apologize. I was on a road trip (w/o internet connection!) for a week, and since I’ve been back I’ve just been trying to get back on my feet, so I’m really sorry for my absence, and I PROMISE I will be posting a ton of reviews shortly. I’ve gotten way behind. :)

My can’t-wait-to-read book of the week is:

The Chaos of the Stars

By Liz Kessler
Publication date: September 10th, 2013.

Synopsis:

12578305

Isadora’s family is seriously screwed up.

Of course, as the human daughter of Egyptian gods, that pretty much comes with the territory. She’s also stuck with parents who barely notice her, and a house full of relatives who can’t be bothered to remember her name. After all, they are going to be around forever—and she’s a mere mortal.

Isadora’s sick of living a life where she’s only worthy of a passing glance, and when she has the chance to move to San Diego with her brother, she jumps on it. But Isadora’s quickly finding that a “normal” life comes with plenty of its own epic compli

cations—and that there’s no such thing as a clean break when it comes to family. Much as she wants to leave her past behind, she can’t shake the ominous dreams that foretell destruction for her entire family. When it turns out there may be truth in her nightmares, Isadora has to decide whether she can abandon her divine heritage after all.

Well, first off, I’m a big fan of Kiersten White’s books. So, obviously, when I heard about this one, I couldn’t WAIT to pick it up! Egyptian mythology in modern day America??? Yes, please! I love mythology, (Percy Jackson, Kane Chronicles, greek, roman, and egyptian myths in general, etc…), and this one looks great!

What’s your “Waiting On” book for the week?

  1. I think the cover of this is super pretty. But I found I’m not a fan of mythology books or Kierstens writing so I probably won’t read this one unless someone says I absolutely have to haha. I hope you enjoy it :)
